compliance project, and software compliance is a natural
by-product of our PRISM service.
The FAST Standard for Software Compliance entails:
Create and
implement a software policy.
Carry out
a full software audit.
Reconciliation
– collating information generated by the audit, compiling
it and ensuring licences or proof of purchase exist
for each item.
Management
Control – ongoing management of software assets is
implemented through regular audits.
Registration
to the FAST Standard – the policies and methodology
are assessed and if the organisation meets pre-set
criteria, registration is achieved.
The programme can be simply broken down into four
clear stages. There are specific tasks that must be
completed to achieve each of the levels:
Bronze
Attend the FAST Software Management Workshop & successfully complete the examination - individual becomes a FAST Approved Software Manager
Begin the collection and cataloguing of invoices and/or licences
Ensure that a Board Presentation has been carried out by FAST Corporate Services
Silver
Software management policies have been constructed and deployed to all staff
The FAST Software Audit Day has been attended
Software Audit Day exam passed - individual becomes a FAST Approved Software Auditor
The organisation must have a FAST Approved Software Manager
Gold
An audit has been carried out using an electronic audit tool
Reconciliation has been carried out and any licensing short falls have been rectified
The FAST Application Form has been completed and passed to FAST
An on-site assessment has been completed by FAST
The organisation has a FAST Approved Software Manager
Platinum
Subject to a successful yearly application and on-site compliance assessment, 3 consecutive years of registration to the FAST Standard for Software Compliance have been achieved
The organisation has a FAST Approved Software Manager
